ELDERS

Bruce Laible has been married to Julie since 1990 and is a University of Maryland grad, Fear the Turtle!  They both grew up in Bowie, MD and moved to Duluth, GA, attending Perimeter Church since 1996.  Bruce has been at AT&T since 1998 after 8 years with UPS.  Since 1989 he has been actively serving with the US Navy Reserves in the US and Middle East.  Bruce and Julie have enjoyed

homeschooling their 3 kids (Brenden, Bethany and Rebekah).  He met Ralph during their homeschooling Dad adventures and enjoys the theology of grace and the feeling of community which is found in the lives of those at GracePointe.

Scott Rogers (sabbatical)

Scott and Susie have been married since November 1993, and have been blessed with three amazing children - Abi, Alex and Zane.  The Rogers family moved to Cumming from the NW suburbs of Chicago in November of 2006.  Scott is a geek by trade who does not like what technology is doing to society.  He has been involved with the C. S. Lewis Institute Atlanta’s One Year Fellows Program

since 2007, which has had a great impact on his life.  Scott met Ralph through the Rogers and Johnston kids finding each other at Perimeter, and God worked out the rest.  While he does not consider himself political or religious, he enjoys discussing both of those topics.  He is ever amazed and awestruck that such a Holy, Righteous God would not only want us to know Him, but would shower us with the Grace to be call Children of God.

Dave is originally from Toledo, Ohio and have lived on Long Island before moving to the Atlanta area in 1995.  Cathy and I have been married since 1973 and have a daughter (Tiffani) born in 1978 and a son (Peter) in 1979.  We have granddaughters born in 2003 (Leah), 2005 (Ryleigh), and 2012 (Zoe).  We have been at GracePointe since Randy Pope introduced Ralph and Lisa in 2005 and I

became  an Elder in 2011. We also host a Community Group and several other church functions at our home.   My hobbies include woodworking, boating, golf, and reading.

Jake Wray (sabbatical)
jwray@gracepointeforsyth.org

Jake and Kellie have been married since 2003 and have three children at home. Jake and Kellie are both Georgia natives.  Jake grew up in Conyers, is a Georgia grad- Go Dawgs!, and is a State Farm agent. Jake met Ralph while playing basketball and was looking for a church home where they could feel connected and receive sound Biblical teaching.  Jake enjoys making people laugh and unwittingly finding new ways to thwart Kellie’s desire to schedule everything.

DEACONS

Sandy Branen:
sbranen@bellsouth.net

Sandy and June married in 1973 and have been blessed with three children and seven grandchildren. June is a retired teacher, who graduated from Florida State University and grew up in St. Augustine, FL. Sandy grew up in Decatur, GA, earned a degree from The University of Georgia, and is a retired salesman.  We moved to Lake Lanier, in Dawsonville, in 2014 after a

40 year residence in Lilburn, GA. Sandy was a deacon at Parkview Church  (PCA) in Lilburn for about 13 years. We were planning to visit various PCA churches in the area and make a decision; however, their first visit was to GracePointe and knew it was home. June and Sandy love Jesus, each other, our families, and living on the lake.

BJ and his wife Tiffany were married in 1999. They have two beautiful children, Ella and Kamen. They enjoy family time boating, camping, hiking, playing board games, watching TV and movies. BJ owns an auto repair shop in Cumming where he restores old cars and builds race cars. Before coming to GracePointe, BJ served as outreach coordinator for six years at a non-

denominational church. He has a growing passion for sharing the gospel and seeing others reconciled to God. He strives to find new and exciting ways to connect with the people of our community and beyond to share the love of Jesus.

Jonathan and his wife, Amanda, have been married for almost 11 years. They have two children, Eva and Benjamin, who are 5 and 1 respectively. They have been at GracePointe for about 10 years. Jonathan graduated from Covenant College with a BS in Mathematics. He has a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and a Specialist Degree in Educational Technology. He has been a teacher for 13 years. He currently teaches computer science at Forsyth Central High School. Jonathan and Amanda love working with and developing the gifts of young individuals. They have served as leaders with Camp Kerusso for several years. They strongly believe that life is about what you do for other people. Jonathan is the webmaster of GracePointe.

Daniel was born in North Carolina to Paul and Rhoda Owens.  His sister, Anne, was born two years later.  As a young child he lived primarily in Mississippi where his dad attended RTS and pastored a church in Collins, MS.  They moved to Georgia and since then he has lived all over the state.  Daniel and Vanessa married in 2003.  They have lived in Cumming since 2004.  The

Lord has given them two amazing children through the gift of adoption.  They started attending GracePointe in 2011 and have continued to worshp and grown in this community.  Daniel works as a Project Coordinator for the City of Roswell.  Daniel enjoys playing soccer and anything out of doors.

Barbara and I married in 1971.  During that time she has loved and supported me through a 30 year Navy Reserve career, a 34 year Georgia Power/Southern Company career, 13 years of night school at Kennesaw State earning a BBA and an MBA, and 10 years of service as a deacon at Old Peachtree Presbyterian (PCA) in Duluth, GA. We have two grown children and four

grandchildren, all of whom live within two hours of our home.  When we moved to Cumming we visited several Presbyterian churches, and finally found that GracePointe was where the Lord was leading us. We are now retired, very involved in an RV travel club, and frequently travel with our Airstream in tow.  If we aren’t in church, we’re probably on the road.  We love this church family, our community group, and our Journey groups.  I am honored to be chosen to serve this church as a member of the GracePointe diaconate.
